I spent a gloomy afternoon at The Japanese Garden, and it was downright lovely.

This is the closest thing to “Autumn” that I’ll see here in Los Angeles.

Down by the beach and very concerned about his proximity to the water.

Although that doesn’t deter him from stuffing his nose in the sand.

And it was fun to stir up all the gulls.

But he’d much rather be on grass, about 40 miles inland…

With his nose crammed down a squirrel hole.

(Ten minutes, lots of baying, and several dirty looks later…)

Toby had a good weekend full of good sniffs.

We’re entering my absolute FAVORITE time of year. Fall is my favorite season, and I get so excited when I start seeing all the holiday items showing up in stores. And each year, I make our family Christmas card featuring our boy.
