Where does the time go?

Posted on September 20, 2009

Mr. T is going to be four next month and I can’t believe it. I remember when his Mama was pregnant. And now he’s FOUR!?

He’s an absolute hamball. We had fun photographing him on his very own Harley. Happy (almost) birthday, Mr. T!

Mama & Big Brother joined the fun, too.

A special kind of love

Posted on September 14, 2009

Toby’s such an affectionate dog. He’s always ready for a good scratch or bellyrub, and is always willing to give slobbery kisses (even when you don’t necessarily want one).
The other day, I was working in the kitchen, when I looked down and realized I was being watched quite adoringly by this little sweetheart.
His little puppy-dog eyes melt me every time.

Except…
Wait a second. Something’s wrong here.
This is suspicious. I feel like I’m being used for something. Please note the glassy, dilated eyes.

Oh.

Of course.

It wasn’t ME he was adoring. It was my homemade CHICKEN STOCK.
Key word: CHICKEN.
So let me rephrase things.

Toby is an affectionate dog… as long as you have something he wants. Like a couple giant chicken breasts.

Which he didn’t get.

So sorry, Toby. So sorry.

Houndstooth 2009 (and then some)

Posted on September 13, 2009

I spent my Sunday afternoon creating a new portfolio for Houndstooth Photography. It’s been over a year since I created my last one, and I needed an excuse to try out a new bookmaker. Here are the spreads.

Favorite!

I was kidnapped.

Posted on September 10, 2009

By my mother-in-law.

She grabbed me by the elbow, told me to grab my camera, and said that she was taking me out into the wilderness to take pictures of some mystical white grass.

So we drove all over the county and finally found a large collection of pampas grass on the side of a highway. She stood watch so I wouldn’t be hit by any hog trucks or speeding vehicles and I snapped away, fearing she’d never take me home if I didn’t.

Of course, they turned out lovely, and I ended up back home safe and sound. So I suppose it was worth it. ;)
